This session addresses who is using Big Data in the Kenya Agricultural sector. We will first review preliminary results of a study that canvased 70 persons from various parts of the Sector about their visibility of data utilization in the Kenyan agricultural ecosystem. The study took place in August and September 2018. Discussion points of this canvas included: who is using Big Data, what are some barriers to better use of data, and what are some solutions? This will serve as a backdrop for panelist to provide an overview of their data activity, describe the kind of data they are using, how they collect data, what kinds of questions are being answered with this data, and who consumes their data?
